EPA Lead Paint Rule

EPA Lead Paint Rules are effective April 22, 2010

Homes built prior to 1978, as well as schools and childcare facilities, are targeted by the EPA Rules for Lead Paint. Any renovation or repair disturbing more than 6 sq ft inside or 20 sq ft outside must be by a certified renovator.

Lead Paint poses a health risk, particularly to children. To reduce the harmful effects of lead particles from paint, any contractor working in the environment must follow prescribed methods learned through RRP Certification.
